NCPF Annual Club Print & Pdi Championships - Sunday 23rd February 2025.
On Sunday 23rd February, the 2025 Northern Counties Photographic Federation held its Annual Club Championships at
Clara Vale Village Hall, Ryton. For both the print and PDI competitions, competing clubs were invited to submit 20 prints
and/ or 20 Pdi's, which were judged by a panel 3 judges, Dave Phillips from Saltburn Photographic Society, Alan Porrett
ARPS DPAGB EFIAP APAGB from Whitley Bay Photographic Society and Dr Keith Snell LRPS EFIAP PPSA from Keswick
Photographic Society.
As the images and prints were displayed to the audience, the judges were asked to give each a score between 3 and 5
marks using an electronic scoring machine, so that the maximum score any image could obtain was 15. Over 400 prints
were entered from 22 clubs in the Print Competition, and in the Pdi Section over 600 images were entered from the 31
participating clubs.
In the Print Competition, the winning Club was Keswick PS with a total of 264 points followed by Saltburn Photographic
Society with 245 points and both of these clubs will represent the NCPF in the PAGB Print Competition later in the year.
In this section, Morpeth finished joint 14th out of the 22 participating clubs with a print entitled ‘My Happy Place’ by
Paul Kidd gaining 13 marks.
In the Pdi Competition, Keswick PS took first place with 261 marks, and second was Saltburn PS with 243 marks, and
both of these clubs will go forward to represent the NCPF at the PAGB's National Club Championship held later in the
year. In this section, Morpeth Camera club finished in a very creditable 4th place with 236 marks, with Tulips by Sue
Dawson scoring the maximum of 15 marks and the following images scoring very highly: ‘Volcanic Landscape Lanzarote’
by Sue Dawson (14), ‘Great White Egret’ by Glyn Trueman (14), ‘Crested Tit’ by Paul Kidd (14), ‘Black Capped Tanager’
by Graham Sorrie (13), and ‘White Ibis’ by Paul Appleby (13).
